Frank J. Orland.
aged 83, died November 25, 2000. Dr. Orland, who received
his degree in dentistry from the University of
Illinois Dental School, also had a Ph.D. in bacteriology from the University of
Chicago. He was the director of the University of Chicago Zoller
Dental Clinic from 1954 to 1966. The American Academy of the History of
Dentistry honored him for his research on bacteria and tooth decay. He was
president of the International Association of Dental Research and also was
president of the Forest Park Historical Society, which he founded in 1976. A
member since 1958, he presented one paper.
