Howard Alberrt Schneider, aged 87, died October 28, 2000, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr.
Schneider, who received his medical degree in biochemistry and nutrition from
the University of Wisconsin, was a founding member of the Institute for
Biomedical Research at the American Medical Association. At the Institute he
organized the first laboratories devoted to medical ecology. He was a founder
of the Institute of Nutrition at the University of North Carolina and had been
professor emeritus since 1978. A member of the Club since 1966, he presented
two papers.
